The latest interactive creature to hit the shops is Pleo, an animatronic dinosaur. If you think Roboraptor was good, you’ve not seen anything yet!

Pleo is the cutest dinosaur I have ever seen, especially when she (looks more female than male) ’hatches’ and wakes up with her sleepy eyes. The designers have created a pet with a combination of different animal attributes.

She loves having her chin tickled and being stroked like a cat – even adopting the cat stretch position. Yet at the same time, she plays tug of war like a dog and even wags her tail when happy.

Pleo also displays emotions such as happy, sad, puzzled, surprised, playful and downright cute. As all living creatures do, Pleo will evolve and gain confidence and make dinosaur style honks just like in Jurassic Park.

Despite some of the ridiculous ’farmyard style’ noises that come out of her mouth, she is generally a fascinating piece of robotic design. She will explore the environment around her, without a need for a controller and give off signs of awareness such as yawning when her battery needs recharging.

Now unfortunately Pleo comes with a huge price tag. You won’t get any change from £250, but it’ll definitely appeal to many people of all ages.
