What young person doesn’t want to have their own pet? If you don’t want them to have one but find it hard to say no then have no fear, here comes the perfect answer to your problems. Introducing Squawkers Macaw, he is an ideal first pet as he does what he’s told, is cheap to look after and doesn’t make a mess!
The FurReal parrot is the most realistic animatronic toy you’ve probably seen. Although you can tell from his ‘feathers’ that he isn’t real, his movements and speaking abilities are uncannily like the real thing. He comes with a vast range of skills and reacts to his environment similar to the Furby. Being a parrot, one of his strong skills is to speak and repeat words back to you. You can teach him some manners so he will be the best behaved Macaw on the planet.
He arrives complete with a very plastic looking perch which he can cling to (the only thing I didn’t like about this product) but would have no problem gripping onto an adult finger or a little arm. One feature that makes this better than FurReals previous pets, is that Squawkers can learn through voice recognition. He is also able to respond to certain pre-programmed commands including ‘Are you hungry?’ and ‘Hello’.
Stroke him on the head and he will dance for you, flapping his wings and jigging his head. It’s spooky how realistic it looks, and best of all he guarantees that he won’t need any expensive visits to the vets. To be honest I predict that the adults will end up playing with Squawkers just as much (if not more) than the kids.

Not only would Squawkers make a great pet at home, but he could become an office mascot at work too. You wouldn’t have to worry about leaving him on his own at night or over the weekend and he would have plenty of people to keep him company during the day - as well as being a great source of entertainment for all the staff.
Hasbro have had much success with their other realistic FurReal friends range, from the ‘life-size’ Butterscotch the Pony and farmyard animals to kittens, pups, bears and even a chimp and I am sure this realistic parrot will too.
