I saw this gadget on a certain TV programme this weekend and was so impressed with it I decided to let everyone else know about it.
This is the ultimate in eco-gadgets. And you’ll never need to buy batteries again!
Trevor Baylis is the 21st century inventor that gave us the wind up radio. Originally this wind-up radio was invented to be used in remote areas of Africa and other parts of the world that did not have access to electricity to power electrical goods such as radios. The wind-up gave these communities the opportunity to keep informed of news and events.
However, other people realised the usefulness of this creation and so the wind-up radio became a favourite with campers, walkers and travellers because it was free to run and avoided using a disposing of the millions of batteries we get through in the UK every year.
Now Baylis is back with the Eco Media Player. Working on the same principle of using the wind-up dynamo technology, this media player lets you play your favourite music either downloaded tunes or the radio as well as playing video, storing photos and other data so you can peruse it at your leisure anytime, anywhere.
What can it do?
- FM Radio
- MP3 - can hold up to 500 songs which can be increased with an extra SD memory card
- Video player - a 1.8″ screen to watch all your favourite shows
- Phone Charger
- Torch
- Data Storage
- Sound Recorder - either as a dictaphone or recording music from external sources
Convenient if you are away from any kind of power source so perfect for travellers, campers, walkers even just that long commute on the train everyday. A definite multi-tasker and surprisingly light and compact to carry around. Simply wind up the arm for one minute to generate 40 minutes of power.
It was being sold for £170 but buy it from the Ethical Superstore for just £154.99. It may sound a lot but remember you’ll never need to buy batteries to run it.
